If you’ve been blogging for a while you probably have posts you made when you weren’t thinking about how it would look when shared on Pinterest.
And while you don’t want to go back and update the images on all your blog posts, the most popular ones – the ones still getting traffic – should have their images updated.
Why? If people are still visiting these posts, some of them are going to want to share them on Pinterest.
However, if the image shared is unattractive, you won`t get any viral traffic from the pin. It`s a wasted opportunity.
Here’s one way to decide where to start. Go to your Pinterest Analyics and choose “Most Recent”. Then look for pins with ugly photos. These are blog posts that need new images.
Go back and change the photos on those blog posts so future pinners have something beautiful to share.
What should you replace the ugly images with? Make sure the images are tall, not wide. Use an eye-catching photo and great design. Include your logo or web address on the image.
Be sure to include a description of the blog post in the meta description of the image. Many people will pin and not edit the description so include the words you want to see. Write it to encourage pinners to click through to your blog.
