Welcome to 2008! I love the beginning of a new year – it’s full of possibilities.
Besides sleeping in and lounging around with my family, I spent a couple hours today playing with a spreadsheet of a projected cash flow for the coming year. My family thinks I’m nuts but I wanted to finish my planning before I get to far into the new year.
I used to hate dealing with financials and tried to put it off as much as possible. But I’ve learned how paying attention to the money is what keeps you moving forward in your business. If I’m behind on my financial targets, I’m motivated to do more marketing.
Doing my cash flow this time around has been a lot of fun. Looking at my numbers for 2008, I’m on track for having my best year yet. My goals and plans have me stretching myself this year, but I feel confident I can reach my goals. I’ve also included money for some extras – a family vacation, repaying some debts and hiring a virtual assistant.
