Visual Artists & Multimedia professionals: Promote your portfolio on LinkedIn
By Andrea J. StenbergIf you’re work has a visual component – graphic designers and photographers come to mind – then LinkedIn has probably felt a little cold to you. On a site like Facebook you can easily post your most attractive work and let it speak for you. After all, saying you’re a great photographer is a little lame. Showing it is something different.
However, LinkedIn has just added an application that will allow you creative types to showcase your best work on that site too. Called Creative Portfolio Display, this application allows you to create an attractive online portfolio.

The application is actually powered by the online portfolio site Behance Network. This free network allows you to post your multimedia projects to an online portfolio that can be posted to a variety of site, not just LinkedIn.
You’ll need to sign up for Behance Network, upload your portfolio items and then install the application to LinkedIn. Now you’re network will be able to see your work without having to leave your LinkedIn profile and go to your website.

Sounds great. This will be especially useful for photographs, web designers and graphic designers.
Are you using LinkedIn? I haven’t used it yet and I haven’t signed up for it. I am not sure as to how much it would help me!? What do you think?!
I use LinkedIn extensively. I call it the social network for grownups. I’ve “met” some really interesting people on LinkedIn, made some great connections, found suppliers and found customers. You really should give it a try.
LinkedIn Is pretty amazing. Branding oneself and meeting up with people in your field. Thanks.
