The events over which we have some control, the "human powers" sometime require aid from the larger, or collective social sphere, and then when it's really of a spiritual question (which includes questions about our "fate") then we require aid from the divine! The Chinese divide these spheres into Personal, Collective and Divine, and of the three, the only one over which we have "control" is our own, personal sphere. Excellent point!
